predator 212 hemi

Postby ajkirton » Thu Feb 12, 2015 9:12 pm

My kids motor let go on their manco silver fox.

I decided to go to harbor freight and get a predator 212 with the hemi head.

I haven't mounted it yet, but am doing a few mods prior to installing it.

so far I have ordered the following mods.
Mikuni 22mm carbeurater
custom billet intake manifold
custom venturi stack intake
K&N filter
3 stage long tube ceramic coated header
ARC billet lightweight flywheel with 8 timing advance
custom long mikuni throttle cable
remove governor

this will attach to my comet torque converter. Hope this makes some power and the kids enjoy it.

I have no clue what kind of power this will make, but i think it will be a little faster than the subaru robin 6.5 that came on the kart.

any other reccomendations are always welcome.
Great......another hobby is just what I need.

I think engine wise they about the same, but with the mods, now that will make a difference.

I went ahead and purchased a billet rod for it as well as I have heard that that is a common failure point.

I think this will be a pretty bulletproof setup.

Everything I have read has indicated that the Hemi head motor has a much better flowing head, and a better piston than the standard 212. I am still contemplating putting a cam and rockers, but I think this is a good start for a first round of mods. I don't want the power to be too high in the power-band.

Kids are super excited. Even mentioned their Kart and working on it in their prayers at bedtime last night.

I would wait on the cam and rockers to see how the kids handle the kart. I told you, kids will always remember it. My son still talks about it, he's 14 now.
