that is nice. I love the exhaust, but I would put some braces on it or it might break off.

For that open spot in the gauges mount I would try to find one of those analoge clocks like you see in some older cars, or maby a digital one that will fit in there.

Thanks. As far as the mount, when I finished welding the mounting flange on I just wanted to throw it on and see how it sounds, I have every intention on making a mount for it and in fact I have already bought the raw steel to do it. As far as the sound, at idle there is no difference. When you open it up you can definitly tell its loud. Not open header loud, almost like a supertrap exhaust setup on a smaller or mid-size quad. Definitly a neighbor pisser-offer. What I also like about the setup is it takes the heat away from the top of the engine unlike the square box that it comes with. And I didn't like the old exhaust because it was pointing right at the frame leaving a huge black carbon mark.

Thanks for the comments. adph412, the pipe I scored off of ebay about 4 years ago for about $20, it is intended to go with a fmf fatty expansion chamber for a 1988-89 CR250. I was going to use it on my 1983 Suzuki ALT50 trailbuddy as a neat exhaust for it but it has since been sitting in my garage for 4 years. However it was not a true bolt up pipe, I had to cut out a piece of flat steel stock to make my mounting flange, I used the exhaust gasket as a template, drilled my holes, and whiz sawed it out. I then welded the pipe onto the flange and whala. Suprbean, it still sounds like a 4 stroke, just a little meaner and a little more aggressive, I will take a video soon an post it for all to hear. It also has a cool popping sound while de-accelerating kinda like an open header. ork, I didn't want to tear the engine down just yet, especially since there are no real performance parts for robin engines. My neighbor has a twin cylinder 377 skidoo safari abortion with a nice running engine with the oil injection still hooked up (courtesy of myself, I wanted to ride a snowmobile one year so I got his running), I was thinking about droping that engine in if I wanted serious performance or a v-twin briggs 14hp and up. As far as my brake issue, I have a complete hydraulic MCP brake disc setup coiming in the mail this week, during install/fabrication I will take pics incase others feel that they need better brakes on their manco's etc. Now if I could only get the battery to charge so I can mount my winch. This by far is not my only project though, I also have an 1981 Honda Odyssey 250 that I am getting back into running condition so I have my hands full.

Why yes, the top brush bar has been removed, I am surprised nobody else caught that. Reason being is that I have a lower back (2 blown and 2 bulging discs) problem. I probably shouldn't even be riding it, however I just cannot give riding up. So I figure it's like driving a car. Without the top bar, it is much easier for me to get in and out of it. Plus being 6' 4" doesn't help matters much either.

Hey Dz I hope you check this post out I know I know its an old post but I have a question on your pipe I have a very similar set up as you but I had to make my own muffler flange doesnt look cool like yours were did you get it or did it come with the muff. hey also by the way I can relate to the back problems about three years ago I fell off my mountain bike and shattered my L5 s1 lost movement from the waste down on my right side had to have surgery Im about 98% good. I even ride my bike and have been in a few adventure races . I know the pain can get bad but their is hope and if the docs bring up surgery dont sweat it with todays medical advances it is a simple procedure for a good newrosergion. It also helps to try to get your abb muscles as stong as possible so they can help your back support your bod. you dont have to be ripped to have stong abbs.
