GM's can take hi miles. Not saying ford's cant. So far my brothers X has the record for highest mile ford in our family. My dad had an 02 tuarus before the yukon. I think i spelt tuarus wrong. from not seeing that car for a few years, i guess i did. lol

In my opinion, you are better off having fun with your kart and using your cars, SUV's, and trucks primarily for transportation.

I know that is boring and a typical comment from a parent, but it is true.

how so?

cant smoke the tires

doesnt sound as good

worse brakes

not alot of options to hop em up

plus, on the offroad chart, go karts are at the lowest of the pile, next to go ped offroad scooters and moutain bikes.

SAFER. If you try drifting in a car, you may kill some family.
More practical. Late yesterday we raced over to the farm to drive the karts. My torque converter locked up and then the starter handle tore off.

So, we had to push the karts all the way back to the garage/shed we keep them in, but my car works fine. So, I was able to pick up a pizza, come to work today, take my daughter to day care, etc.

If your hot rod/modified car breaks down, it messes up your entire life. Unless your car is just a toy. Cars are very expensive toys.

What can't you modify on your kart that you could on a car?

Ork, you may wanna revise your statement as the largest ford engine is the 5.4 I thought about getting a 460 for my mercury, but would have to convert some things beforehand, plus the cost of it would be $4000 and would need to be rebuilt. Thats the cheapest they come around here. I have seen import trucks kill mileage on any domestic truck (although I only by american vehicles). My neighbor had a ford F150 that had 400,000 miles on it and was running perfectly when he sold it. GM's have the worst longevity out of them all, my old GM work van went 60,000 miles before it needed a water pump, and then a intake gasket at 120,000 and (you guessed it) another water pump. My Chevy iron duke 4cyl blazer only went 90,000 before it needed head work, and after the head was replaced it started tinging, probably a gone wrist pin or the like.
