Postby Kr8zyboy » Thu Nov 11, 2010 9:45 pm

I need help I'm trying to find out where the wires go that come from the key switch to the motor. I have put a new gy6 motor to replace the old gy6 but the new one has wiring from a scooter I have got the motor plugs all hooked up but need help making the key work.

I bought the motor off eBay. It's a new motor that came with all the electronics and when I looked at the electronics I ordered a harness that fit the electronics and the harness is for a scooter. I just need help with a diagram to wire the keyed ignition. They said the cart is made by Carter brothers. On the key cylinder it says TKM and there's 5-6 wires and im not sure what they go to.

if I remember right the heavy red is power in, black is ground, red/white is power out to the cdi, and the green/yellow is start. Can you post a picture of the switch your using?
