YD 3202/Tecumseh Oil Change Tricks?

Postby skim61 » Thu Jun 09, 2016 8:17 am

First time changing oil on the YD 3202 and the chain yoke is part of the motor mount plate directly in front of the rear motor drain plug leaving no room for a wrench. The front plug is a little more accessible, but sits on top of the motor mount plate so that oil will drain across the plate (if the kart is angles correctly).

Who has cleverly designed a drain tool/hose/baffle/funnel/whichamacallit thingy so the oil doesn't just drain across the motor mount plate?

Please share. :director:

I recommend using the front plug. You could point the front down hill and drain it the way it is. Once you get it drained you can buy a piece of pipe and a plug/elbow to extend it out where it won't drain on everything next time you change the oil. No matter what you do don't over tighten anything going into the engine block. If something still leaks, sealer is your best friend.

Thanks again, GFM. Good suggestions. I ended up using a pump from a syrup bottle with a long tube end through the fill hole and it worked like a dream. Put new oil in with a bit of Murphys cleaner, ran for 30 minutes, and changed it again. Zoom zoom :iroc:
