Back in 1995 a brother in law asked if I would go and look at a company pickup he had bought new in 1990, it was a 1990 Ford F-250 with a 351 small block. It had suddenly stopped running and he had it towed back to his house. I discovered that the electric in tank fuel pump was not working and installed a new one, when it did finally start, the engine was very noisy for about 1 minute, and the oil pressure was slow to come up, so I turned it off and checked the oil, it was so thick it would barely run off the stick, so I went and got an oil change and discovered that the truck had a Motorcraft oil filter on it, and I know the oil change place my brother in law sent his employees to did not use Motorcraft filters, so after a few minutes of questioning the driver of the truck, he told me that he never had the oil changed since he got the truck new. It had 100,000 miles on the original oil and filter, oh he had topped it off when it got low, but never changed the oil !!!!!! 20,000 miles later, the sludge in the engine had come loose and stopped up the oil pump screen and it started knocking. Get this, this guy drove right past the oil change place for the entire 5 yrs he drove the truck, and never had it changed. He had drove this truck in the worst construction conditions and pulled a tralier and had never done anything to the F-250 except top off the oil for 5 yrs and 100,000 miles !! Never changed the air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, spark plugs or anything! It was truly an ecxeptional Ford truck because most Ford trucks are dead at 100,000 miles.

I am a Chevy guy the king .
