Cz Engine Screwed

Postby gokarter45 » Tue Apr 22, 2008 12:47 am

Well heres the engine off the CZ and I think its running days are officially over. The cylinder wall is rusted the insides all rusted and i could here parts of rust crack and brake when I tryed to turn the piston. Also the carb adapter is all corroded and rusted also seems as is it was grinded on by something. The clutch also is completly rusted. If anyone has any suggestions id love to hear em but I it bet it be even a hell of alot cheaper to buy it new. It needs a new ignition system that alone is $450 carb adaptor reed valve $390 new clutch $95. Also need air filter and carb parts get quite pricey.

Any engine cane be rebuilt, it comes down to, can you afford to rebuild it properly.

A regular hone cant be used, due to the ports, a special hone is suggested so it doesnt snag the edges and demolish the jug. Surface rust isnt a big deal, a scotchbrite pad and some cutting oil can clean that up.

Shame to see such a nice engine in ruins like it is.

But there isnt any sense in putting a dime in it, if you arent willing to take it all the way.

Carb, intake, gaskets, rings, machine work on the cylinder, possibly a piston, reed cage and reeds, and reed stops, ignition setup...you are talking some serious money here, not to mention you dont know how worn the piston and cylidner are to begin with, crank wear, crank bearing wear, main bearing wear...

Id dump it and find something in better shape, but that's just me.

Yeah I would do that same cuz you need the be able to afford all that and its VERY exencive and i know will need a new crank shaft for sure. It was cracking and everything when you turn it.

You SUCK at the internet...

Here is a good link...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/cz-engin ... enameZWDVW

That's not a new crank, it's a used crank, covers, and ROD. He also states the rod bearing is shot. It's a 3 peice crank, so the crank pin has to be taken to a bike shop, pressed out, bearing replaced, then pressed back in with a new bearing/rod.

Click your link, ebayhttp:// isnt a registered protocol.

You added "ebay" to the link, before http:// and it is a dead link. I copied it, deleted the ebay, and it worked.
