I have changed the steering since but it is still all hand controls. I like it much better than a steering wheel and pedals, somewhat like a pilot.

I see the wheels I've been looking for. 8 inch diameter 1 piece for 5/8 bearings. Where did you score them?

I'm using a 8 hp briggs with a few mods, removed governor, longer exhaust, and a motorcycle carb. The engine works great, lots of power.
