So i install the new shocks.

Blaster front shocks installed in the rear.
Suzuki lt185 rear shocks in the front.

They are a little stiffer than i was hoping so i am still searching for the best solution.

The new spindles and rear axle should be here friday.

I also found a couple polaris transmissions that i may adapt to this motor. I think the motor is just too high revving and strong to work properly with the tc. I figure all that i will need is a clutch drive to the polaris transmissio. Then a chain cog from trans to axle. Relatively simple to adapt.

I have contacted a couple salvage yards and a few ebay sellers. I am hoping to start gathering these parts in the next few weeks.

Sounds like a plan. I agree on the power handling of the tc. If you can get that adapted it would work pretty good.

In my previous life i worked building high end race cars. I now just am a engineer for a large company.

I am sure i can adapt it. I have done many very hard engine swaps. I think this is fun because i will have less money in this entire kart than just the exhaust cost on my car.

Its all the excitement at a fraction of the cost.

I still do! :argue: angel
I find working on the karts so much easier than working on a car, everything on a kart can be customized for cheap not the same on a car.

You arent kidding. Id say i have close to 20k in my car and its not even a year old. My last car was an RS4 and it cost a ton to modify it.

So far my kids kart:
Traded Dell Venue 11 PRO with every accesory dell sells for kart
$60 for bigger front tires and rims
$20 for belt
$100 for shocks
$99 for predator 212
100 for flywheel
80 for rod
100 for carb jets and adapter
35 for exhaust
15 for filter
20 for throttle cable

So for 500 or so it is a pretty fun kart

My LTZ400 i traded an old rolex i had for so that hasnt cost me much out of pocket.

My exhaust on my car was 1900...
My pistons and rods were 1200
My block was 1300 with new crank
Headwork was over a grand
Turbo 1600
Clutch 300
Computer 500ish
Ohlins coilovers 3200

Tons of little things too. Then you add the 30k for the car...

If i can have fun and scratch this itch for lots less, i am all in.

that seems like a ton for a car exhaust. the exhaust on my truck: flowmaster super 40 $110, high flow magnaflow converter $250, $150 for headers, plus maybe 300 for pipe and labor. I'm throwing tons of money at my four wheeler project right now. when it's done I can do a write up on it.

Yeah it wasn't the cheapest exhaust for the car, but no where near the most expensive. its full 3 inch turbo back with a divorced waste-gate tube and splitting into duels through a magnaflow muffler. It also uses ring-clamps as opposed to standard bolt and flange style exhausts.

It was custom made for the car by a company named "NAMELESS PERFORMANCE".

I haven't had to do much to my ATV. It is a LTZ 400 with a 434 big bore kit. already has a yoshi exhaust and a bunch of other mods. it is plenty fast for me as its my first 4-wheeler.

I used to be really into cars. my priorities have changed over the years with the addition of 3 kids and getting older. We have never lived in the country until recently so all of these outside toys are new to us. August 2013 I got really sick, and almost passed away, as of august 2014 I am in remission, but in that time we downgraded our house and moved into a country home with 9 acres of land behind it to play on. I also had to take some pay cuts at work since I missed almost a full year of work. Throughout all of it, it actually drove me into a bankruptcy. I had so many medical bills that there was no way I would ever be able to pay them back. Some of my treatments were 10k out of pocket every 2 to 4 weeks. it was one of the best things that happened to me. It has forced me to slowdown and spend so much more time playing with the kids. It has forced me to realize that work stress is self induced and that once i leave work for the day there is nothing I can do until the next day.

I now am into projects that I can involve the rest of the family in.

That sounds like tons of fun. I guess I didn't think about the turbo. so far I'm at about 1300 for engine, all missing/broke hardware, and lighting. I have a 400ex bored to 440 ,now a 460 stroker. Crank and piston was 450. plus a lot of other extra goodies. I can't wait to finish it.

OK...

This weekend we got about 10 minutes of enjoyment before the belt shredded itself and snapped.

I just ordered a used Polaris 20 trail boss transmission (5 speed) some gears and a drive clutch. We will see how all of this works. I will be able to post up some pictures when I am done fixing this thing.

My kids will be excited.
