How do you hold the driven pulley solid to get the nut off the shaft. Impact wrench?

one of those rubber grip things that you can use on oil filters or any shape really ive found works best

That's what i used some members use the rope method that is described HERE

yeah i feel the rope method adds unneccisary time and work when for $5 you could get something the works just as well

Your old belt! or even a good leather glove. The edges can be pretty sharp. Ive got my palms cut up pretty good a few times.
