EX21 Wont Idle

Postby asamoas » Tue May 19, 2009 11:38 am

I have a low hours Robin Suburu EX21 that does not want to idle. It fights to stay running then dies. The fuel seems to be good. Good compression. I replaced the plug. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I am resisting pulling the carb off and trying to soak it clean it. It never seems to work out well for me.

just be careful if you do and check out how everything goes

or if youre worried about hurting the engine take it to a shop or a friend who knows what theyre doing

Yeah, I can rebuild just about anything. But carbs are a different creature.

Well it works perfect now. Removed carb, cleaned jets, soaked in cleaning solution. Does anyone know what the black adjustment on the back of the carb just under the fuel line is for? I cant find any reference to it. I assume it is the mixture. What is the procedure for adjusting?

I found the parts and service manual on line. Now that I can see how it is assembled and where the jets are I can give it a try.
