Hi,
I am new to this forum and was happy to see a category called Promotional Karts. I picked up a restored Kenny Bernstein/Budweiser go kart that was built by FW Leisure in 1985 and is number 45 out of how many unknown. Since purchasing the kart, I've spent hours upon hours trying to find more information about these promotional giveaways. It seem no one really has much history other then "I purchased the kart and had it in my garage for 20 years". My aim was to catalog all the different funny cars produced and get complete pictures of them so that a restorer would be able to figure out what goes where. It would be nice to know how many are still surviving of these limited edition pieces. I also opened a facebook page called "Promotional Funny Car Go Kart Collectors Group' to see if I can collect more info and pictures on these karts. My Bernstein kart is missing the rear decals above the lights and I've been searching for a picture of another so I get call it "complete. I also scan ebay and craigslist daily to collect any additional information. If there is anybody out there with one of these karts, I would love to hear from you and your story. The production tag under the fiberglass body usually will have the number and date of manufacture.
Thanks,
Eddy
